  I'm a repeat customer of Andreas Zafiropoulos and his wife Especea who are silversmiths and artists in Old Town Chania and owners of Psimithio. I've known them and their work... read more for close to 15 years. Over many cups of Greek coffee and glasses of orange juice in the shady courtyard cafes adjacent to their shop, I've chatted with them and purchased many pieces they've made: from rings to necklaces to earrings. Their scope goes from Minoan inspired to sea creatures and natural objects evocative of Crete to modern takes of loved or revered objects incorporating clock faces or other thought provoking bits. Their work is both ancient and modern and very original, I like to buy from them because they are Greek artisans of the highest order. Of special note are their small exquisite sculpted figures in silver or silver/gold wire or metal, of warriors and figures in Greek mythology. I wear their art pieces more than anything else I own. This recent visit I bought a beautiful silver guitar necklace. This small workshop and retail space is my "must visit" place when ever I visit Western Crete, which is quite often.
